My latest adventure down the west coast is now over. Posts are listed by date on the right. In a departure from previous years, I am not asking for donations. Instead, I will be making a sizable donation on behalf of my father-in-law, father, and all the wonderful people who have supported me over the years.

My rides will continue to make a difference in the lives of families fighting lung disease and to increase awareness about the importance of lung health. Follow along … Together; we are improving life, one breath at a time.

Day 43 -- August 2nd -- Niagara Falls, Ontario and NY -- Rest Day

Miles Ridden: ~15
Miles Walked: ~5

Last rest day of trip ... Niagara University ... Niagara River ... Niagara Falls

Even though it was a rest day, Dave and I were on our bikes after sleeping in (until 9) for a casual ride through town and out to Niagara University.  Dave graduated there and provided me a nice tour of the town, campus, river, and gorge.  We had a nice lunch at the Seneca Casino and Dave poured a few more coins into the slots.

I spent the afternoon walking back to the Canadian side of the falls for some great people watching, sight seeing, and the Behind the Falls tour. The wind was blowing differently today and walking along the overlooks you stayed dry. I spoke to Mike on the Rainbow Bridge with one foot in the US and one foot in Canada.

One Last Look
Dave and I headed to Little Italy for dinner at a classic Italian restaurant that had been in business since 1927.  We also multi-tasked and did our laundry next door while we ate.  I spent the evening blogging and creating the new blog page.  I caught the evening fire works right from the window of the hotel.  Seven riding days to the beach!  On Friday (8/6) we make our way to Latham, NY which is just over the river from Troy.  The RPI alumni association is having a small reception for me ... check out the invite - Mark’s Trek Across America Reception – Hudson Mohawk.

Good night moon ... good night rest day ... good night Niagara ... good night RPI alumni (see you Friday) ... good night family and friends (see you Monday)
